Journal of Social Business asked me to draft something. Of course an announcement as important as this needs lots of re-editing. I can only refer
to the life work of economists I randomly know best. I am sure more formally trained Adam Smithsians could
choose better general examples than I can
OPEN DESIGN OF SUSTAINABILITY CURRICULUM OF ECONOMICS
-A CALL TO LEADING UNIVERSITIES AROUND THE WORLD
In his final years at Univesrity of Cambridge,
Keynes implored students of economics to take responsibility for the conclusion of his general theory: increasingly only
economics rules the world. Furthermore leading 20th C mathematicians from Einstein and Von-Neumann onwards
clarified that the first generation to become globally interconnected by technology needed to design systems mimicking nature’s
evolutionary rules if sustainability of future generations is to be joyfully celebrated as our human race’s
primary valuation criterion
We the undersigned invite leading universities and pro-youth institutes around the world
to join in openly developing a curriculum of economics mapped round sustainability exponentials. Wall Street’s 2008
meltdown provides clear and pervasive evidence of the inconvenient truth that various macroeconomic wrong turns have been
made whose consequence is that many of the world’s largest nations are disinvesting in youth.
We
wish to celebrate the transparent system designs of multi-win case studies and solutions which increase the productive
purpose of every person’s lifetime. Peter Drucker foresaw this opportunity as offering an order of magnitude more health
and wealth if we chose to integrate every local society into a globalisation openly designed to be true and fair. Our
call identifies with the concerns of the most curious Adam Smithsian economists including Haysek’s demand that economists
prevent the fatal conceit of command and control power and Norman Macrae’s call in The Economist that youth
and leaders from the start of the fourth quarter of the 20th Century embrace Entrepreneuriual Revolution

(Would
Romano Prodi as a1976 translator of Entrepreneurial Revolution across Europe join in co-signing?; is this movement one
that the funders of the E-G8 would join in celebrating?; who else of the 50 leaders who trust Yunus most would add their name?
If Europe's experiment with "Big Society" banks are to empower youth, dont we need sustainability economics to guide
this innovation? Would the Emperor of Japan, who awarded dad highest international honor for his work as an optimistic microeconomist
nominate a leading Japanese "green" intellectual)
The special issue of the Journal
of Social Business celebrating the call by US Congress to Muhammad Yunus to testify as the genius microeconomist of the net
generation aims to be the first step forward in mapping the open curriculum of sustainability economics
An extra question : do we now have relevant internet technology so that a modular approach to sustainability
curriculum of economics could be posted up for 360 degree voting by every culture and urgent need social context?
Perhaps a sponsor like Jeff Skoll or Jack Ma or dad's friend George Soros or a leading French philanthropist concerned
with the integrity of the word "Entrepreneur" could be found to help pilot this
